BBC News channel lagging behind Sky News on the Tottenham violence, Sky with live pictures, BBC with still photos.

Well for example BBC News had a reporter live in Norway for almost 2 hours before Sky so that's hardly a fair point.

They are now live on the ground, clearly using Sky News' pooled footage!

Nope... Definitely different pictures.
Sky News had decent HD pictures earlier. The BBC had a static locked off wide in SD (and not great quality) for a bit before they started to operate the camera.
However Sky were hamstrung by their presenter a bit - Martine hugely better at sustaining than Steve Dixon.

Apologies, my mistake.

Ben Ando now anchoring from the scene and conducting live phone two-ways, I would assume to allow Deborah time to move from N6 to N8.
He even went into the weather.
I do have a question though, when BBC News send reporters/cameramen to riot locations do they take any form of security with them - or do they rely on the Police to protect them who are on scene? I only ask, as was demonstrated now - poor Ben Ando got mobbed and he had to opt back to the studio.

It's something else now with Karen Gianonne....
Wonder what the BBC World viewers are making of this little lot?

If BBC World is following its own schedule, it should have actually been showing a pre-recorded programme from 1.10am. So perhaps the NC is still doing rolling coverage because World is away, and maybe someone's just forgot to take the local time graphic off.
