Well, I don't think there is actually anything going on now, and I don't think it is connected to Ronnie Barker..... but it is really strange!

So what happened to that 'trustedmember' person who told us somebody had died. I take it that was made up?

I think it must have been. I thaught perhaps it was one of our regulars breaking the embargo to us (obviously not using their real username to avoid jeopardising their job). But, obviously just a prank. So I think we can safely say, that this user should be banned if nothing turns up within the next few days, as I really don't think death is the right thing to joke about.

well he did die yesterday at 12.15PM , so maybe they knew, but this embargo thing was put in place, and was finally liftet at around 9.15am this morning

Neither Ronnie Barker nor ANY other celebrity would merit the wearing of black. It's one thing when idiots suggest the ridiculous, but for you all to engage in a debate of it is unbeleivable.
Despite what W12 says (no offence, dear), I remain unconvinced that nothing was happening yesterday.
No, its not the Clothes Show - but for nearly every presenter to be wearing black indicates something is going on.
A coincidence would have been for all the presenters at one time of day to be wearing black - but for nearly ALL of them ALL day to be wearing black (including black ties) is too much of a stretch to be co-incidence.
And the fact that certain users still havent said anything one way or another is enough for me to be suspicious.

if
, hypothetically, the Queen had died, it would be such a big story and a big event for the government to manage effectively, that there could quite concievably be an embargo of 24 or 48 hours while plans are drawn up so that everything goes smoothly and professionally. Don't forget all the legal wrangles and potential constitutional crisis of Charles becoming King, and the feverish media coverage if the news broke in a sloppy fashion. That's not to say the Queen has died - but I think we should all wait a little longer until we decide this was all a fuss over nothing.

I think it's unlikely that anyone (the government, Buckingham Palace, whoever) could suppress such big news for days on end in this day and age.
