Nope i dont think there is any news to be broken to us a think that we are getting a bit too supcious and looking for every reason to think there is. Maybe there was something going on a rumour possibly and it has just passed.

Don't be so quick there! I recall a few years back we were all debating whether the Queen Mum had popped it - and just one short year later the embargo was lifted and there it was!

So why did the 'trustedmember' who joined only tonight tell us that there has been a death and that the newscasters will prove him/her 'sadly right'.

I found a memo in a drawer in work saying that there were rumours that the Queen Mother was very ill and that everyone should be on alert over the weekend. It was dated April 1980.

Again, there's nothing to tell us that this is true/not true. As i've said, lets just wait till tomorrow before we jump to conclusions.

Just out of interest, say there was something going down, and newsreaders were being told to come in wearing black, would they actually be told the story or just "be prepared for something big".

Unlikely that they would be told what the story is. An embargo is an embargo.

...and would they come to work with their black clothes or have black clothes ready for them at work incase they needed a quick change?
