Sounds fantastic - hope the pilot goes down well.
John Sergeant is a very funny guy - and it would be great to have a British version of 'The Daily Show'.

From itv.com :-
Not Tonight with John Sergeant
The former political editor presents a comic slant on the week's news, assisted by co-anchor Katherine Jakeways. With reports and celebrity interviews by a team including Jeremy Hardy, in the guise of chief political correspondent, and John Sparkes as regional newscaster Barry Welsh. Plus, `guest reporters' Alex Lowe, Linda Smith, Paul Thorne and Will Smith offer their own unique take on topical events
It looks promising!

Yup, shame this isn't it. Seems a bit smug.
Could've been very good. Appears excessively scripted, and the jokes were skewed to try and appeal to the lowest common denominator. Even the audience can only seem to raise the occasional chuckle at most.
