Looks like another major schedule change then since theres a Coronation Street episode that needs moving

ITV really need to stop using Corrie as a prop for other parts of their schedule. If Tonight is moving to 19:30 on Friday, then that possibly means an hour-long Corrie from 20:00, or a 19:30 episode on Thursday.

I suspect people are going to get sick of trying to chase the programme around the week.

Julie Etchingham seems a good choice to present it, and hopefully ITN producing at least 10 of the episodes means at least those will be more heavyweight than the usual cycle of topics covered.

If they were to move the Corrie episode to Thursday I feel it would make more sense to have Emmerdale 7-8, Corrie 8-9 then the Bill. The half hour between episodes is annoying.

As for Tonight, will Julie actually do the reports or will she just provide the recorded links like Trevor mainly did. Tonight with Trever Mcdonald, most of the time wasn't, it was mainly with Jonathan Maitland or Fiona Foster etc.

I've a sneaky suspicion we might see Corrie and Emmerdale showing up in the 8pm hour on Tuesdays as well from next year.

I wouldn't be surprised

I could see Corrie on Mon (2 eps), Tues, Thurs and Fri
and Emmerdale Mon, Tues (2 eps), Wed, Thurs and Fri

I would prefer Corrie to return to Sundays tho if they have to move it - at least that would be one of its more traditional slots.

I think Tonight is quite rubbish to be honest, its tabloidy and rubbish and having a new presenter and cutting down the episodes might just give it some credit again. Ok it's popular, but I personally think it does need a nrew look and a new presenter and time slot. Then ITV have room for something else. It's about time they had soemthign different in the schedules as popular some shows are they need to look to the future now there are no regional slots in the evenings

I totally agree Stuart - we have already had Corrie moved twice in the past 2 years - I can understand why they want to move it on a Wednesday because of the interruptions every 2 weeks or so due to the Football, and also I could understand why they moved it from Sundays as well. But I will be annoyed if it gets moved again from a slot its held for 20 years (20 years this month since the Friday episode was added!)

Am glad it is not taking one of Corrie's slots!

I know Dancing on Ice is taking the Friday slot, while The Krypton Factor is taking the Tuesday 7.30pm slot, so I assume Countrywise is moving to the Monday slot?

A new series called The Lakes has got the Monday slot.
