Tom Bradby and Daisy McAndrew: ITV News

Today's Evening Standard has a diary piece about the appointment of Nick Robinson's replacement, suggesting that the role will be split between James Mates and someone else - with Sky's Jon Craig and the BBC's John Piennar both in contention.

Daisy Sampson is joining as chief political correspondent, with Tom Bradby as Editor - from MG.

So who will replace Daisy on The Daily Politics?

Tom Bradby seems an interesting choice as editor.

And what of John Ray - currently senior political correspondent

Indeed - i thought he was the equivalent to Chief Political Cor. - but perhaps not.

Looking at Bradby's biog, I see he did briefly work at Westminster in the early 90s as producer to Michael Brunson when he was political editor.

On a related note, i think today is Elinor Goodmans last day as political editor, as i came in on the middle of an interview on News at Noon, where Alex Thompson was intervieing her on her time at the commons.

But as i say i only caught the end of it so maybe wrong.

I guess John Ray could well take over Bradby's UK editor role

There is still a vacant Chief Political Correspondent post for BBC1 News following Mark Mardell's promotion to Europe Editor. Could be a straight 1-2 transfer from ITV News --> BBC News?

On the Daily Politics, ever since they went five days a week, except on Wednesdays it has been only presented by one person, and mostly Andrew Neil, who has been doing Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with Sampson only doing Wednesdays and Fridays. It could be they were planning ahead, and Neil will also do Fridays?

Not Tom Bradby, the worst ITV News reporter. Polictial reports on ITV will now turn boring again...

Don't forget Daisy has also had commitments at LBC 97.3, presenting their drivetime show 5 days a week.
