The studio actually looks nice and not horribly garish, unlike most of those radio studios that look like TV studios.

It's probably geared for video recording like LBC. They'll try and get some important guests which they can then use to raise the station further on the likes of Sky news and other Murdoch output. It'll be interesting to see if there's any crossover of staff amongst the group.

The only connection these days between Sky and Murdoch is the sponsorship of Chris Evans's breakfast show on Virgin.

Times Radio has appeared on DAB with a pre-launch loop in place of the old Talk Radio slot, the latter has moved to a DAB+ slot.

Thanks for the heads up, in fact my radio had already updated the station name automagically. It's witchcraft ! Laughing Cool

‘Studio 14C’ - where are these broadcasts originating? I didn’t realise the Times Radio Group had so many radio studios?

Could it be the numbering scheme is based on something like floor numbers rather than total number of studios ? (So 14C could be the third studio on the 14th floor?).

They built new studios for Talk Radio; these studios used for Times Radio are actually the original Talk Radio ones when they moved into the News UK building.

I worry about the future of Talk Radio now it's moved to DAB+.

Let's see, rather like DVB-T2 for telly, we have to move things on.....

Has Radio X been affected much by the switch to DAB+? I think the long-standing fears of nobody being able to listen to DAB+ stations have been largely proved unfounded, given the number of stations that have switched In the last few years.

I worry for the future of Talk Radio now it's basically turned into a radio version of The Sun. I reused the preset for something else last week after its one remaining decent show got axed

It doesn't need to be associated with Talksport does it, so I can see it becoming Sun Radio.
