Haha. Nice one Marcus. I was double checking the calendar to see if it was 1st April.

Have you been up all night queuing outside Waterstone's to buy a book, or is it some other reason that you are having a dotty day?

I agree i think steve scott should get a permanent gig when sir trev retires either on the lunchtime or the evening news.
I prefer to watch steve compared to mark, bill and james. I hardy ever watch the evening news now just catch the last half hour of the steve and felicity barr pairing on the newschannel when I get home from work

And finally (deep breath) Eddie Mair, He presented Newsnight once - Simply put why is he not still there?

According to DigiGuide, Eddie Mair is doing Newsnight tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday; and for a couple of nights next week too. Should be a fantastic watch.

I think I've mentioned this before in other threads, but Owen Thomas is seriously underused on ITV1 bulletins, and I don't think he has ever done one. Can anybody tell me why ITV do not use him, as he would be an asset.

I'd like to see susanna reid made the main beakfast female anchor.

Maybe Because he come across as a camp little school boy who is hiding sweeties under the desk and wants to be good and smile so his Mummy doesnt smack his Botty???

I see what you mean... But he is good at his job, and being a camp little school boy clearly seems to attract viewers for his witty humour and authorative presentational techniques. Personally, I'd rather watch an hour of Owen than bear 30 minutes of Kirsty Young.

I make a sensible enquiry and then I get immature opinions. I wouldn't make a nasty opinion about your favourite newscaster. Plus, I doubt Owen Thomas is actually gay. He is in MY OPINION a few several million times more interesting to watch than Steve blooming Scott.

Yes it was a good watch last night, i am looking foward to tonight, But when you reach the dizzy heights of Newsnight, I dont think there is anywhere else to go for him in BBC News.

I mean the 1,6,10 will be a bit stale for his talents, N24? World? maybee but I think he would be lost in Obscurity.

Now a reporters role could be good, step forward the new political editor Eddie Mair, of course that wont happen now, but one day?!

It would be good to see him present Daily Pollitics or This Week.
Nice to see some talent comming from within for a change.
