Right - no-one ever talks about CNN on here, and there's probably just as many of us watch (or dip into in my case) CNNI as there is BBC World.

So what do you all think of CNNI?

I personally watch it as a last resort, i.e. if BBCW is having a bad day or if the Middle East opts out for India Business Report instead of staying with live breaking news from London.

However, I find the CNN output anchored from London to be excellent, but Atlanta a bit mediocre.

The daytime flagship Your World Today is a bit iffy so ay the least, salvaged only by the excellent Jim Clancy and Tumi Mahgkabo (sp?).

It seems that Daljit Dhaliwal has vanished into thin air. She just didn't seem to fit in on YWT.

CNN Today is anchored from London (in the mornings) and Hong Kong (in the evenings/nightime, depenidng where you are).

CNNT is a fast paced digest of news, business, sport and interviews, very much like a Breakfast type programme.

YWT is their "flagship" bulletin, anchored out of HQ in Atlanta, and is a kind of "lighter" style of presentation, where the anchors are very much relaxed, although the news and editorial content is very much high standard.

There are in total four hours daily of YWT. The first two hours are presented by Jim Clancy and Zain Verjee, and the second two by Michael Holmes (although presently Jonathan Mann) and Tumi. There are quite a few opt outs and its rare that all regions actually get to see four continuous hours of this. Frequently, one of the female presenters is away, so Tumi or Zain will do the entire four hours.

We see 4 hours of YWT here in Singapore according to the schedule.

Daljit Dhaliwal resigned this last summer IIRC.

I think the promos done down the iSDN line by that chappie up in north-east Scotland are EXCELLENT.

Couldn't agree more, Nick! Wink

I have to say CNN make good choices when choosing voices for their promos.

Havent' seen that NE Scotland promo at all. Is it only played in the UK, or across all output?

How long has former CNN presenter Natalie Allen been presenting on MSNBC?

Only noticed her today.

Must be a good three or four years since she left CNN. From memory, she quit shortly after co-presenter Lou Waters left because he was being overshadowed by the likes of Aaron Brown post-September 11.

It isn't a Scotland promo, but the voice over artist stays there.

And very good he is too. All the ladies of Port Gordon tell me.

I know it is a common thought amongst Americans that English people are lacking in the dental department, but in fact most English people have teeth. Even if hardly any of us have dentists any more.

(But it's Richard Quest).
