The BBC Website is announcing that "Heather the Weather" is stepping down from Reporting Scotland. She is moving into the teaching field. Her last bulletin will be 22nd December 2009.

Nice to see Sian Lloyd, she does ITV National Weather about once a month throughout the rest of the year, except at Christmas when she's on every day.

I think she must have the easiest job in the world - like you say she's rarely on, which is a shame tbh.

There's a rather nice blonde girl doing the weather at the moment on the BBC News channel, I think it's Sarah something - she looks lovely.

George Cowling, the UK's first television weather forecaster died on Christmas Eve. He presented the first in-vision forecast from Lime Grove on 11th January 1954, using hand-drawn charts prepared by George and carried across London to the Studios.
