He works for BBC Five Live - hence crops up occasionally on Breakfast or Newsround. I'm not sure if he's employed by the BBC or like the team in London by the Met Office. I assume the weather hub teams are employed by BBC - even those in London who use the same studios as the national team.

Yes it is 6 Music though pictures I had seen from either a blog post or tweets suggested the show came from Salford - but perhaps it has since changed or was a special.

Makes sense. There was a behind the scenes video showing a morning in the life, he had to go to a different building to do 6 music and it looked like he was alone rather than in the same studio as the show he was contributing to. May have been mocked up for the video I guess.

Granada are in a bit of a limbo at the moment with regards to Weather, Emma Jesson I believe only works part time, Kerrie Gosney hosts most of the week, Fred Talbot technically hasn't left ITV however he's still awaiting trial and Jo Blythe has just started maternity leave, so quite often they can get almost anyone they can hosting, Lucy Verasamy (down the line from London) has presented a few times of late, Alex Beresford and Lukha (can't remember her last name sorry!) have presented. Amanda Houston and Jon Mitchell have presented too, it's basically whoever they can get!
