Glad to see such a kind human being making it to the top. Does anyone know if she still instructs crew not to look at her?

Sorry to bump the thread, but it turns out that Myleene Klass had her baby last night just after she'd finished presenting The One Show . Christine Bleakley is standing in while she recovers.

Gosh, she really did work right up to when it was due!

According to the BBC News website, Myleene's baby arrived three and a half weeks early - so no - she didn't work right up until it was due.

Are we talking about the same person? Wasn't Christine a Floor Manager on the Patrick Kielty Show in Belfast before she moved to presenting?

Still pretty close to the birth date though.

Very sorry to the lady, not knowing exactly which part of the province she comes from, but I caught the top of tonight's show and couldn't understand one word of what she said.

I only understood that she was saying Adrian's name at the beginning because of the consistent format of the introductions.

The remainder of the time she might just as well have been speaking Bulgarian.

Sorry, BBC, but if you want to keep the viewers, you had better get somebody who can communicate with them.

I come from Northern Ireland and I have to say I think Christine comes from a generation of BBC NI presenters that try their best not to downplay their accents, therefore sounding slighty more broad than the likes of Caryn Keating and Gloria Huniford ever did.

Well I certainly would never ditch my accent for anyone. She is from NI and has an NI accent - so what - next we should banash other minorities from the telly as well?

In saying that your comment will help those who say the BBC is bias in favour of Celts lol.

You can have a Northern Ireland accent without sounding so broad that people in other regions can't make you out! Gordan Burns par example!

Well I aint from Northern Ireland and I can understand her. Andrea Catherwood has a strong accent but I aint confused by her and Lisa Burke is obviously from Eire, with her accent - but I can definately understand her.

Huw Edwards needs to learn a London accent though as he is just too Welsh Rolling Eyes As for that Adrian Chiles - well what language does he speak?? I really wish English presenters would speech proper English lol.

Adrian speaks English, with a Brummy accent. I understand him. Im sure most English people do. Its just the whole debate of regional accents on TV. People moaned when everyone spoke Queens English on TV, now its more diverse... people still moan! Rolling Eyes
