There were some clips from ITN, mainly from the early days (Robin Day, Reggie Bosanquet signing off an edition of News at Ten). There was also the Tommy Cunningham "Man from Strabane" 1960s clip from UTV (who didn't get a credit at the end).
Enjoyable show, though, did seem to be a mish-mash of blooper show and history of TV news but it worked. Did like the titles, employing some of the various BBC news styles down the years.

Yes, it was 50/50 enjoyable/disappointment. I enjoyed it because the featured clips were very funny but I was disappointed that there wasn't any new material and I'm especially disappointed that there wasn't more ITN footage. There must be shed loads of cock-ups from the 1990s and 2000s from ITN - what a pity they didn't use some of them. They just seemed to reel out the same old BBC clips they've been using for years.

It seems the researchers only went as far as old tapes of Auntie's Bloomers. For example I'm sure people have said 'BBC News 25' more recently than the old cream set
I'm sure there are loads of cockups from the ITV News Channel that will probably never see the light of day again

I remember seeing two Sky clips - when Simon McCoy got up and walked off set, leaving Anna Botting on her own. The other was from the 2005-present set showing the virtual helicopter in front of the desk, but that was only used to illustrate the narrative. Come to think of it, Lindsey Brancher featured near the end - she's been at BBC World for yonks but I'm sure she worked for Sky News prior to that. She was in a set I didn't recognise, anyway, and looked rather young. However, there was literally nothing from ITN post-1970.

It was good, but as many people have said, the clips were poor. TVAM mainly, and BBC News. There are lot's more I've seen on blooper shows! Shame they were no Sky/ITV clips.

Yes it is on Friday 4th January, BBC Two at 19:00... at least in Scotland!

Anyone know if this is being repeated?

They said it began in the 90's
Didn't SKY start in 1989? Damn BBC can't even make a correct factual statement about something like that!

Disappointed that apparently 24hr news started in 1997 in this country.
