Sums it up perfectly.

A cynic might be forgiven for thinking it was all a made-up job to take the news services' attention away from the continued aggression by the Israelis.

ITV really putting a lot of effort into the coverage with the Alistar in the studio and the other presenters at the airports. They even have one of ITV Tyne Tee's presenters at Newcastle Airport. It's also nice to see they have a ticker still, and for an event like this it's ideal to have it running.

I suppose this terror threat is just what ITV needed to show off it's best.

Nice ending there. Desperate to get the ad revenue, ITV1 just ends with Alistair still talking and heads straight into a Neutrogena ad.

I agree - we've got Austin at Heathrow, Hossain in the Info Centre and Owen at Gatwick, with several regional reporters on hand to report locally.

Very well executed, and my choice to find out just what has happened and is happening.

itv news should have stayed on longer now we dont have a newschannel. At the end alistair got cut off so they could go to some adverts.

Yet again the bbc starts earlier than itv and finishes later than them

I'm pretty enjoying Sky News coverage, all major airports in England, Scotland and US are covered with reporters doing quite good job and Chris Roberts anchoring from Heathrow is on top level as well. Early morning Sunrise breaking news coverage with Steve and Lorna was very good as well, they quickly got Crime correspondent Martin Brunt on air, who told important news items from own sources. Knowing that most of senior correspondents are resting after Israel/Lebanon journey, the coverage is excellent.
They also got reporter from Tel Aviv on air with interview related to this story.

The ITV Graphics were very impressive including the ticker. I imagine these were intended for the news channel, despite the fact it had already dissapeared by the timee they were broguht in.

He got cut off because it was the end of the programme, you could hear the music end in the background

Do you think the count in the gallery goes 5, 4, 3, 2, hold on, 4, 3, 3, 3, 2, 1?

But I wonder if that decision was made after they found that that ITV was providing coverage. I was very surprised that Breakfast ended at 9am, just before the press statement, meaning after that point the only terrestrial channel who carried it was GMTV!

I'll agree with what many others are saying: ITV's coverage has been great today. They really pushed the boat out, and good for them.

I definitely prefer ITV News when it's just one presenter in front of the newsroom backdrop reporting, instead of all the walking around the studio, motioning towards things on the newswall.

The BBC News special seems to be going on for longer than originally expected, I think it was meant to finish at 11:30... they're obviously waiting for all the press conferences... Perhaps they'll go on until the 1 o'clock news?

Will there maybe be a different line-up to the National News bulletins today? In some major breaking news circumstances....Huw Edwards has anchored the One o'clock News, the Six extended to an hour etc. Will we see this happening today?

More a case of ITN not being able to follow an out time...
