That's a better argument. Well done!
EDIT: However, I'm not sure about your assertion that trialists are only compensated for their loss of earnings...
A very well paid backpacker if his loss of earnings for 2 weeks are £2,500!
Are you that much of a tosseur that you are completely oblivious to the fact that these men may JUST have been looking to help in the advancement of clinical prosperity in the UK?
You deserve to be the "elephant man" for a day for your blatant disregard for other people.
My original point was that the story was extremely widespread across all sources/networks, however realising the magnitude and seriousness of the story perhaps it's better that way.

The event is a real tragedy...
No, the event isn't a tragedy - it's just what sometimes happens. When you're trialling a drug, sometimes things go wrong, what else is the point of trialling them! Just greedy people getting their come-uppence! They knew the risk - now they're the elephant man! Ha Ha!
I hope everyone will have the same views about you - should you end up fighting for your life in intensive care. Perhaps the drugs that some 'elephant man' has been the guinea pig for will save you...but you would not deserve it!!

I'm affraid I have to side with Anna. The girlfriend was a BBC Producer and someone I've talked to. She was genuinely, and clearly from the images, in distress and I am slightly dubious about the wisdom of filming her in such a state but that said it does not remain a reason to cast assertions over someone who is clearly very upset, everyone reactions different to difficult situattions, which this clearly was for her, and to comment on her "perfomance" I find slighly misguided.
It has also being commented upon that this (the drug) may in fact help someone one day and it is something worth considering popcies!

I would guess they've probably wised up to the fact that football cannot be covered live within a 2-hour time slot, so they probably planned not to simulcast on Monday and Wednesday this week.

The thing is, when News 24
don't
show the Ten they just do their own thing as if it was any other hour.
I think they should use the Ten titles, autocue, reports and - if possible - do the interviews that will be done on the Ten - so that in effect the only thing which is different is the presenter and the studio. BBC One would then do effectively the same programme 15 minutes later.
Or here's another idea... get Huw to start at 10pm whatever, show it just on News 24 if BBC One has overrun, and then just put out a time delayed recording of what's going out on News 24 on BBC One when they're ready! He'd even have time to do two different opt out sequences at the end then!

If anyone missed it this weeks Real Story covered the Drugs Trials, highly infomative too. I suggest people watch it if they've not already. Least then certain people can check their facts before giving their opinion.
