Doesn't look like the simulcast will be happening tonight - the ridiculously-scheduled football on BBC1 looks to be going to extra time and the Ten will not start until at least 10.15pm.

I presume N24 will continue with Jane and Chris for half an hour - isn't this what happened the last time?

EDIT: Chris has just announced it'll be Ben Brown with the News Hour on N24.

It now looks like the Ten won't start until around 10.40pm!

Expect One Foot in the Grave to be dropped!

I don't believe it.

(Sorry, but someone had to.)

I expect the News may be a few minutes shorter, so as not to miss the the opening of the Sporting events on the Commonwealth Games. Inncidently i wonder if they will show the lottery draw tonight, they may just give the results, or that could appear before the news.

By the way did the 10 use the 10 titles on News 24 tonight, they did a couple of years ago when the 10 on BBC 1 was due to be on at 11.

So what did News 24 do with their first half hour? Are they allowed to use the packages from the Ten?

Classic anno there: "...the schedule has changed, so One Foot in the Grave won't be on". The emphasis on "won't be one" was brilliant. Even made my non-geek housemate laugh out loud.

Umm. I wonder if the bright spark who thought having bulletins run on both channels at a fixed time is still so happy. It's a stupid idea (and slightly Sky like) to have bulletins on a rolling news channel precisely for when this happens. Total dogs ear.

It looks like some of the 10 packages were used as the ticker had to be taken of the screen at one point to accomdate the graphics in a presentation.

I wonder what the announcement will be into the Commonwealth Games...

"That's it from us here on BBC ONE, we'll be back at 7am with The Commonweath Games Report... but now we take you through the night with... Commonwealth Games 24!" Laughing

Sorry to be awful here but I'm fed up of hearing the wife of that medicine bloke telling us he looked like "the elephant man".

It's consequently been used in every single bloody bulletin on all the channels.

The event is a real tragedy, but I agree with you, Jaime. They even led with her statement on a BBC World bulletin a while ago and international viewers will be lost on the parochiality of the comments.

And it has just been headlined as part of the Webb - Yates programme too.

Yes the packages are the same Evan Davis's presentation which was on BBC1 was on News 24 at 10.20.

Haha, glad to hear I wasn't the only one!! Laughing Maybe we've just come to expect 'will be shown at a later date' or something! I did think it sounded a bit blunt, in a funny sort of way.

A side effect of the Commonwealth games, as South East Today have just pointed out, is that all the regional breakfast bulletins for the duration will be on BBC2, not BBC1 (and obviously only analogue).

There was also a line about people in Tunbridge Wells getting BBC London - which I'm curious about (local relay??)
