Tim's definatly only filling in for Peter. (He still has his regular Sunday morning slot too on N24, and also has to cover one of the other daytime shifts on a Friday). He was an excellent choice, as he is rapidly becoming the face of News 24 (and, of course, the hair)

Good exposure for him and Peter - I would expect Tim to reguarly do the Friday night slot though, as Peter doesn't work Fridays

Peter Dobbie still isn't back! Third week now. I fear for his survival in this slot! Confused

Forgive me. I seldom ever watch any BBC national News on BBC One, and also seldom read any such threads here.

I caught the end of the Six last night (i.e. at 18:25-ish), and noticed that on-screen graphics (i.e. namestraps etc) are now in News24-friendly positions/proportions. Would I be right in assuming that this change happened on Mon 13th Feb?

Obviously this must be because of the simulcast Ten, but I'm surprised that BBC One national news didn't make this change on the exact day/week that the simulcast Ten launched. I've never yet seen the simulcast Ten, but remember the discussions here.

They did.

Oh. The discussions here left me with the impression that the initial aston style on the simulcast Ten did not go properly with the N24 tower etc. Confused

Well, they were designed to fit, but just don't very well, and look horrible.

Fear not. Peter should be back tonight.

He is also doing World this weekend.

Yes, Peter's back, but I've just turned on to find that they're running late having brought news about that Brit who's been extradited to the US. So sport was on until 2252, then business, and papers will apparently be at 2315.

Pah, back one day and already he's changed everything!

I watched it for the first time last night and I whole-heartedly agree with the comments about the astons. The colours aren't that bad but they are in the middle of the tower, with a visible strip beneath the astons and ticker and another irregular sized gap from the top of the astons to the top of the tower. A shoddy job to say the least.

Is it my telly or does Fiona look a bit funny around the eyes tonight?

She hasn't got a contacts problem again has she?

(Won't touch the things I won't!)

She was rubbing her eye at the end of the programme (You know when the music plays and Huw's formally having a joke with the gallery).
