I thaught I should open a new thread for discussion on one of the biggest newscaster stories of 2005.

Tonight, according to the Radio Times, a freelance presenter, Maxine Mawhinney, is to take to the desk of the BBC1 Newsroom, to read the 10 O'Clock News.

This, to my knowledge, is the first time ever a freelancer has presented the weekday edition of the 10.

I know about that one, I just thought it would be better to open another thread, as the other one seemed to be concentrated on Ms M's Qualities as a newsreader, this one is intended to talk about the acutual event Laughing . Also the title says Maxine is to present the news next week, thus somebody who may be interested could possibly miss the big event!

Who presented earlier in the week? Was it Huw, and thus Fiona must be off so Maxhine is appearing?
