It appears to be the sound desk at fault.

Given the chance. Duncan would have been all over greeting Granada viewers. Alas one of the repercussions of pre-recorded news. It didn’t get mentioned once.

The screenshots I've seen look HD and not upscaled - if so, is this the first time Calendar has gone out in HD?

Unless I'm missing something, Calendar has been available in HD (on Sky at least) for a couple of years.

Yes, ITV Yorkshire W HD has been on satellite for quite a few years now. Yorkshire E HD is testing. But it will have been probably the first time Freeview HD viewers in Yorkshire will have seen their regional news in HD!

Is Calendar back double headed? Or is Christine doing the live programme while Duncan did the pre recorded programme?

Thank you for clarifying. Calendar does have two separate programmes.

At ten thirty Granada Reports was back with Lucy who at the end referenced by saying we got there in the end.

You do have to question why the playout centre couldn't have dropped in an occasion caption apologising for (or even just acknowledging) the lack of Granada Reports. I guess the Granada region would have got the Yorkshire continuity announcement into Calendar?

Yes it was the Yorkshire announcement referring to tonight’s Calendar

I believe the continuity going into the regional news is played in by the regions, so Yorkshire probably didn’t have the facilities to play any sort of separate announcement for Granada. Not to mention they’d need London to record such an announcement.
