Technical problems for Granada Reports

Any reason why Calendar is on instead of Granada Reports tonight (on Sky anyway, both in HD and SD)?

Same on Freeview as well on 3 and 103.

Usually when this happens it means there's been a fire alarm or something, but there has been a reported error with ITV regions recently

Yeah, you can't really expect them to go into details about exactly what.

So they're getting Calendar instead

Yes, I was alluding to the way that "technical difficulties" is often used as a catch all for things that are not really technical issues.

Well I’ve been watching ITV the majority of the day via Virgin and at lunchtime it was Granada and the regional weather forecasts were Granada so when I saw Calendar on 5 minutes into it I had to do a double take and ensure I hadn’t teleported to my parents in Rotherham

Did Calendar make no mention of it on air?

The screenshots I've seen look HD and not upscaled - if so, is this the first time Calendar has gone out in HD?

Looks like the version Granada watched was the pre recorded one, and It seems the full 30 mins was pre recorded which is fairly rare so there was no mention.

If it’s had been live I’m pretty sure Duncan would have mentioned it many times all the way through

Not an ideal DR set up to the take the pre recorded micro. You’d think the contingency would be to feed the live micro. Not great.

Makes you realise how good Granada's studio is compared to the rest
