Whatever their problem was, they appeared to have fixed it. Faultless programme tonight.

Thanks for uploading that (is it on YouTube too?). What program did you use to make it?

Sky+ to "Pinnacle Studio 11" (via Dazzle 100 link). It's not on YouTube, I would have to do it all over again in 4:3 format as letterbox to do that.

Here's a trailer I got today for Spotlight which I've not seen before:

Problems on The Politics Show yesterday - SW viewers got to see the London opt for a good few minutes - BBC SW had technical difficulties meaning their opt started quite late, so they probably had to drop a fair bit... one of the items they did keep in was a farewell to Chris Rogers who is retiring.

IPlayer (Opt is at 39:00 - should have been about 30:00)

I don't know but on Spotlight they did mention in an almost apologetic way that Justin and VG will be back next week , probably Tuesday. It doesnt bother me that she's been away as I 'm very happy with the Nathalie - Justin / Andy pairing.

Natalie explained tonight that Victoria and Justin are off all week, but that it will be back to normal "soon". I'm guessing Tuesday next week after Easter.

edit: you beat me to it MizzB.

I do miss Victoria though, and the way she finds everything funny. I can imagine her and Simon McCoy laughing constantly together at home.

Shame that Chris Rogers is retiring, he's probably the region's longest-serving presenter (albeit a 'channel-hopper') since Craig Rich retired.

And who will BBC South West get to do those occasional ad-hoc continuity announcements?

There are many available voices for that task. Don't forget, BBC South West share the Seymour Road premises with BBC Radio Devon. TV Ark has a clip of a BBC1 South West closedown from 1995, and the announcer, Ian Phillips, hosted Radio Devon's lunchtime phone in show at the time.

Heck, Justin Leigh, David George and Andy Breare are ex-radio presenters, and are more than capable of doing the task themselves. Even Natalie Cornah was a graduate of BBC Radio Cornwall, before arriving at Spotlight. They are not without the talent to do the job.
