An odd thing i noticed the other day.

Spotlight have started putting Astons with the presenters name and 'Reporting' underneath. Nothing unusual there, but instead of their name they put their email address. So it's

jeff.hamster@bbc.co.uk
Reporting

Quite a good idea as long as they don't get spammed, but has anybody else done that?

its a bit old fashioned really - central did that back in 1999, whilst midlands today now do it for their correspondents (not reporters) on a little aston that pops up midway through the report.

Just been watching Spotlight via Sky here in London, Victoria Graham apologised at the end of the programme to viewers saying the "Caradon transmitter" was "not working"....

Anyone know what's up down there?

Just to answer my own question... Just heard Duncan Warren mentioning it on his Radio Devon/Cornwall evening show... a "major fault" with BBC analogue services apparently, engineers are working on it and expect to have it fixed by tomorrow lunchtime!

yes indeed minm they do . I think all they want is leads to stories for their news and not anything else such as feedback on the content of their reports for instance.

Caradon's down on the database as "weak signal" since 16:19 today.

There's no mention of "off air", but then when was the BBC transmitter database that accurate?

She married on 28th September 2007, quite how they run their marriage with her working in Plymouth and him in London, isn't really for me to speculate.

I just saw this morning's local news opt on Westcountry News.

The South edition was presented by the same presenter as the West edition (Shelley Roberts), and covered exactly the same stories, in exactly the same order.

I don't often watch Westcountry News in the mornings, but I always thought that the local news opts were live, with different presenters, and came from the local studios in the sub-regions, or was this just a one-off, where one was pre-recorded with the same presenter & same stories?

Did it not cross your mind that the bulletin was going live on all of the sub-regions? AKA pan-regional...

No, they weren't both live & pan regional, because they were in different studios, with different backgrounds, and different introductions and endings.

The west edition just had the head and shoulders shot, with 'Truro' displayed on the background, wheras the South edition came from what looked like the main studio, with 'South' displayed on the screen (it was a side shot, showing the sofas, table and small screen on the right hand side).
