They showed a nice still of Simon and Victoria McCoy at the end of tonight's Spotlight.

What a pair , I laughed with surprise and mirth at the sight of that. TV throws up the unlikeliest of pairings sometimes. Will Victoria ever find a normal surname ?

I saw Spotlight yesterday and they were celebrating the fact that it was 50 years since the regional news service for the South West started - but they said it started with Points West and Spotlight didn't come along until later...

Now I'm beginning to see where they're getting the idea to merge regions into larger regions - it's happened before!

(EDIT: Found an article about it).

I thought they make quite a nice couple. What's wrong with either McCoy or Graham as a surname, they seem normal to me.

There hasn't been any suggestion that she will change her on-screen name, we'll have to wait until after the honeymoon to find out!

I was puzzling over that as well, Stuart.

Especially as the point was originally made by someone so ashamed of their surname that they just show it as "b".

She should stick to Graham as it's the best of the three I've heard so far. Yes three, she also went under another name when she was on the shopping telly. Something like Van Beekhoven or Van Bendenovern . Smile
No ill feeling to the girl but if she had married Reginald Bosanquet I would have been less surprised by the news. Does this mean she might move away from Spotlight in the future ?

ITV Local for the Westcountry region has gone live - and it also includes video of the sub-opt bulletins during Westcountry Live!

She has done exactly that.

And they had a big report about it on the day that it launched (8th October).

Sadly though, at the same time, they have stopped using news@westcountry.co.uk at the end of bulletins, it's now westcountry.news@itv.com. They've also changed their phone number from the geographic one to an 0844 one, just like the network centre and duty office now have (and all of Westcountry's regional offices have now got numbers like this as well).

Grrrrr! London News at the 6:26 opt-out on Breakfast this morning. Somebody forgot to put their alarm clock back an hour yesterday!

Breakfast opted early, so they weren't ready. Blame network.

An odd thing i noticed the other day.

Spotlight have started putting Astons with the presenters name and 'Reporting' underneath. Nothing unusual there, but instead of their name they put their email address. So it's

jeff.hamster@bbc.co.uk
Reporting

Quite a good idea as long as they don't get spammed, but has anybody else done that?
