David wasn't on at lunchtime today (obviously because he's on the sofa with Justin & Victoria) so we had the forecast from Alex Boddy (wierdly her name came up on the globe caption as Alex Barr today). Alex sometimes does the forecasts when Craig/David aren't avaialble - obviously she hasn't been available for the last few weeks hence why we've had forecasts from London.

The bulletin this lunchtime (usually read by Victoria) was read by Amy Cole, and Belinda Dixon is standing in for Justin on his Radio Devon lunchtime phone-in.

(Edit - Everyone seems to be standing in for everyone else this week at BBC South West! Just heard that Matt Woodley's not in today either - John Coates taking his place!)

So does anyone watch Westcountry Live?

I'm not a big fan of Richard Bath, and feel the whole show is not as proffesional as Spotlight.

Yes.

Not as often as the Spotlights, but at least once a week.

I try to watch a few editions a week, i disagree about the professional comparison, it is only let down by a small number of poor presenters, for example Alex Bowater.
Otherwise as an ITV news production it does an acceptable job.

I watch it just to see the person I know who does the East opt out, although he is away at the mo.

On Monday's lunctime edition of Spotlight, David Braine said he had been having some problems with the computer system for the weather maps, and so he had to use the old weather symbols instead! I think it was fixed in time for the 6:30 bulletin, though.

More computer problems with the weather today... Alex Boddy was about to do the lunchtime forecast when the computer packed up! So she was stuck ad-libbing for a while with a still of the snowy globe behind her.

Who's going to own up to leaning on the wrong button this evening? Spotlight viewers were treated to about 6 seconds of Emily Talentless signing off on BBC London this evening just as Justin and Victoria were signing off... we came back just in time to see the end of the programme and David's wave to camera, although the end sting wasn't played.
