Rolling Eyes It was not Victoria Graham presenting, she does not do the morning shifts anymore since she became the main presenter of Spotlight. It was Rebecca Wills. Sometimes the foot pedal and the autocue don't work properly, which is probably what happened today. Then the presenter has to read "off script"

Thanks for the info rebecca errr ..... maldives. I thought it'd be a very long working day for vg if she had been doing all the bulletins today. Those sort of hours are not something she has done in a long time, like when she was on Ideal World Shopping.

Ooops, we got a glimpse of a wideshot of the BBC London studio at the end of tonight's Spotlight - although you had to be quick to see it lol! It's very minimalist isn't it. Do they not have a "soft area" for less "newsy" items?

I caught this too. Those BBC News cuts are really having an effect on BBC LDN. Can't they afford a sofa? Laughing

Also did anyone notice the fuzzyness of the weather report tonight?
I was watching on Virgin Media so that might be the reason, although everything else was ok.

Also where was David Braine tonight? - Was he doing his 'proper job?'

I shouldn't have thought so, they have more furniture now than when they launched!

The Friday evening weather on Spotlight was done down the line from London.

It's always fuzzy when it comes down the line.

Yes, apart from the actual news reports, anything recorded seems to be really fuzzy.

It's always quite obvious when they have recorded an interview in the studio earlier in the day, as the clarity gives it away straight away.

The worst picture you see is when they play ITV Westcountry's football coverge. It is very fuzzy, washed out, and it looks like they're using a dodgy aerial to get the pics, as there are vertical 'ghost' lines down the screen.

...and they still credit those match reports with a caption saying 'Pictures from Westcountry'!

Well that technically is the name of the channel, but these days it's referred to as ITV Westcountry
(was ITV West Country at one point), although the Ofcom broadcasting licence refers to it as Westcountry ITV, with the licence being held by "Carlton Broadcasting - Westcountry region", but as the Carlton name doesn't exist any more they can't call it Carlton when crediting their pictures.

They did used to credit the pictures as 'Pictures from Carlton' until 2002/3/4 - not sure when exactly! Then they switched back to Westcountry.

Does anyone know if Emma Douglas, the ex-Spotlight Channel Islands presenter, is now the Weymouth reporter for just Spotlight or both Spotlight and South Today?

Yes, she does work for both Spotlight and South Today, in the same way that Clinton Rogers reports for both Spotlight and Points West.
