A double shame - a) that Andrew Neil is stepping down and b) that the show is therefore ending. No doubt it’ll be replaced by something more “accessible” and “relevant” but ultimately less watchable (see also Politics Live).
I think I suggest her for any gig that comes up, but Emma Barnett could successfully take the show on. She’s razor-sharp and witty.

I remember Eddie Mair sitting in on a few occasions and he was excellent. Just the right amount of cynicism and likeability. Pity he’s left the BBC, he would have been perfect.

He could still be. He's only left BBC radio. Other LBC presenters (James O'Brien and Nick Ferrari) have been 'guest' presenters of Newsnight in recent years ?
However, probably too much of a combined work load to be anything other than a guest presenter from time to time ?
