Marr mentioned at the end of this week's programme that he'll be live in Liverpool for the Labour conference next week.

I must have missed him mentioning that. I guess the LibDems no longer qualify for such attention as the 4th largest party.

As I'm sure they'd be keen to point out, they're still the 3rd largest at local government level - but with only two more MPs than the DUP, full on coverage would be tough to justify.

I think I'm right in saying that this is the first year when the SNP conference just about squeaks into the parliamentary conference recess, so will be interesting to see if that imapcts on conference coverage of the now 3rd largest party at Westminster!

Good to see Andrew Neil making his first appearance on Politics Live today, and of course tonight will be the return of This Week. It will be interesting to see what they've do with the new screen based set.

I have a sneaking suspicion they might go back to the One Show studio 🤔

Today’s Politics Live was a special edition, “took over” by Five Live’s Brexitcast Podcast, with Adam Fleming presenting and a slightly altered set.

Yes, it did. The table looked slightly too big though - seemed like a bit of a squeeze around it.

The view behind Lisa and Michael didn't look too good. I think because the backdrop behind them was at an angle so it had a slanted look for the whole show. Whereas the backdrop behind Andrew and the guests were straight on.

It seemed like a technically-dogged start, with some talkback making it to air, and some unfortunate shots of people who weren't yet ready. However, the concept was fine and I liked the vandalism of the titles, the desk and the studio background. Very Happy

The showing of guests not quite ready is all part of the new format. Personally I don't want to see guests being mic'd up, but this is what the BBC believes will attract an audience outside of the Westminster bubble.

Going back to This Week, I'm glad the format is still the same and is one of the most accessible political shows still on-air as Politics Live has been a mess since it started. Nice pres and all, but hate the Brexitcast style format it's taken since replacing the DP.

This week's network Sunday Politics on BBC One HD comes from the North West, and we were oddly treated to the end of their regional ident . . .

Brexitcast’s tech issues added to the charm for me. I’m a listener to the podcast and I always get excited when they get a chance to do the telly too.
