Hopefully they've designed that desk to be easily disconnected and stowed, to make room for the This Week sofas. Very Happy

Will be interesting to see what a BBC News generic bulletin looks like in that set - given Millbank’s history of providing the odd overnight backup.

Probably much better than it did previously. They'll be able to just have the recorded newsroom background used in Studios A & C. I doubt Joe Public would notice the difference. Very Happy No need to have a locked close-up shot of the presenter.

Think of how regular bulletins were in 2008, except with added HD. Wink

Newly timed Marr Show still has one of the Breakfast presenters doing the bulletin at the start of the programme. I wonder if they 'toss a coin' to decide who gets detention for an hour after Breakfast finishes on the NC at 9am. Very Happy

For a very long time Marr included a brief news round up at the end of the programme as well - directly before the music performance. This slowly disappeared.

When it comes to the Party Conferences I think sometimes the Breakfast presenter has stayed in Salford throughout the programme incase the OB fell off air - that might have been dependant on where the OB was coming from.

For the regional political programmes will the Andrew Marr team be responsible for opting London and the Breakfast team for North West or do regions either have really long shifts on a Sunday or split it into two?

Marr welcomed viewers this morning to the new, later start time of 10am and said something along the lines of hoping it would 'allow more people to watch'.

At the end of the programme, he then reminded us that due to the Great North Run next Sunday's programme begins at 8:30! Laughing

Oh brilliant, after all that, Marr will still clash with Ridge next Sunday!

IIRC didn't the presenter who stayed to do the 'end of Marr' bulletin not begin until 7am on Breakfast? The first hour used to be single-headed on Sundays. However, I could just be remembering an occasion when someone overslept and tuned up late.

Is there a suggestion the new show will be live, unlike the previous Sunday Politics opts, which were normally pre-recorded on a Friday? If that's the case only a minimal number of people need to come in to TX the recording.

Did they do this on Saturdays when Weekend 24 was still a thing? I know that Bill used to stay on for the 9am hour, which I believe was alongside Carrie Gracie at the time (who had a Saturday morning shift). However, I can't recall whether he also started later...

That used to be the case but I'm not sure if that stopped before the dropping of the end of Marr news bulletin.
