Changes to BBC Parliament & Political Programming

Well, the producer did mention that Politics Live would have a 'Morning Joe' vibe to it... they certainly have took a lot of inspiration from the set:



What'll be interesting is if the format is similar to Morning Joe - that is very much two hosts and three/four contributors just chatting about the latest developments from the off. It's very conversational - which I think might work.

Surprised they didn't call it 'Morning Jo ' with all the silly 'presenter names must in show titles' going on at the moment.

Aren't Barco screens quite bulky? Would they have room for those in the limited space behind that frame within the fire lane?

Is it more likely to be bevel-less LCD or LED screens (or whatever they are using on Sky News)

Beware using Barco like Hoover... Barco make a large number of different screen solutions. The word 'Barco' was used round here to describe DLP rear-projection cube-based screens when BBC News used that technology - but they have a number of solutions (For years their CRT direct-view monitors were used as high quality preview monitors in control rooms)



I think it's far more likely to be an LED matrix solution (not to be confused with LED-backlit LCD, or OLED) - as used at Look North in Leeds, in areas of Studio B at NBH etc.

Bezel-less LCDs are less likely to be used in a studio with 90-degree walls - as you will have horrible 'off axis' issues - even with IPS displays.

The studio space is very tiny, so going to a rectangular set and large screens, means a better use of the space, and more flexible for other shows that may be filmed from the same studio

It’s using the new font as well maybe this is the future bbc news look.

No, BBC Newsroom Live continues until 1300 on the NC. However, the Newsroom Live simulcast on BBC2 is extended to 12.15 on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri.
