Can anyone tell me what the long flat black box with the flashing yellow lights was behind greg dyke this morning?

This is probably a dumb question, but is that Marr's own car in the opening titles?

Probably another dumb question, but is anyone able to post a cap of a wide studio view, showing the handover sequence from AM to MS for the News Bulletin?

Thanks,

James

I know its on early on a Sunday morning but this programme seems to have some of the most sloppy camera work, wobbly tracking shots & some dodgy vision mixing. Its supposed to be the flagship political show.

I'm a fan of AM, but I don't think he made the right career-move going over to this show.

What else should he have done? He's been the editor of major national newspapers. Been the BBC's cheif political correspondent. His very own Sunday programme, taking over from none other than Sir David Frost, seems a pretty logical step to me.

Perhaps he wanted something a bit less stressful?

Indeed, he stopped doing the Ten and made his main report for the Six as he "didn't want to forget his kid's names".

I like AM, he seems the most human on screen presenter/correspondant IMO. His Sunday show is relaxed and I can see why he chose this less stressful career.

Completely agree, Jonathan. It's a perfect, none stuffy programme for a Sunday morning, full off all the important news you need to know without dumming politics down, or being at all patronising to the viewer.

Dumbing down indeed... I miss his incisive and, as you say, human comments on the Six.

I know he wanted more time with his family and less travelling, but it seems like a bit of a downsize in terms of audience exposure - far more people, surely, much watch the Six than do Sunday AM? I don't usually see it myself, truth be told, as I'm usually either at church, out having coffee or asleep - though I do watch online later if I have time.
