Its over, move on ITV.

As for Sir Trev coming back to host it - what next? Moira Stuart to host BBC Six O'Clock News? Now actually.... Wink

Moira on the SIX would be a great thing. Moira on ITN at Ten would also be a great thing.............................

It's nothing but hyperbole.

Do you know what hyperbole means?

a way of speaking or writing that makes someone or something sound bigger, better, more, etc. than they are

So its not hyperbole, it's "invention" or "garbage".

And the "great" Sir Trev even managed to cock that up with his "now its time to say on behalf of all my colleagues, it's time to say farewell".

Sentence construction on a par with the quality of ITV news output over recent years.

Just read the Sun article online, and the last sentance of the article

"Last night ITV would only say: “We have no such plans.”

I personally would like to see News At Ten, but what if it fails again!

Sounds like exactly the sort of think Michael Grade would do. He's already said axing News at Ten was a mistake, so I reckon it could happen.

Axing News at Ten wasn't the mistake - resurrecting it was!

lol, you just keep on banging that drum and maybe you'll eventually believe it.

I believe it already - and have done since before the decision was made.

Can you honestly say having a watered-down News at Ten airing 2-3 nights a week, with other bulletins airing any time between 10.30pm and 11pm, was a better solution than a fixed bulletin in a later slot - especially as the BBC had moved their bulletin to 10pm in the mean time?

Where the plans fell apart were ITV not putting enough effort into the 10pm slot for replacement programmes - the news programmes themselves at 6.30pm and 11pm did fine.

If it does come back again, i wonder what time it will air?

I mean it could be anything from 9.57pm - 10.06pm Laughing

Media Guardian....
ITV has ruled out the possibility of bringing back News at 10.
- Sir Trevor said he has not heard anything, and said he would not return anyway.

they were both mistakes. Axing the original NaT left a hole in the schedule and created the perception that ITV put ratings and profits above delivering quality news. Rightly or wrongly, those problems remain 8 years on. I'm not sure how anyone can argue against that.

You're probably right, but I don't think bringing it back would work, it would be like trying to piece Humpty Dumpty together again.

I would highly doubt N@10 will be returning, mainly because the Sun is reporting it.
