Tommorow's Sun apparently claims News at Ten is to return with Trevor McDonald.

More rubbish from The Sun then - especially as they've thrown in Trevor returning too!

I wish these mutterings would stop - nobody really wants it back - and those that do would probably watch the BBC version instead!

The bulletin has settled into it's 10.30pm slot now and should remain put - or if anything, move to 11pm.

Seems to have already been debunked by an ITV statement.

Is the story one of those standard The Sun ones that goes like this

ITV TO BRING BACK NEWS AT TEN
ITV are thought to be considering bringing back News at Ten and they
may even get Trevor McDonald to present it again. A source close to Sir
Trevor says... blah blah. News at Ten was axed blah blah.............
An ITV Spokesman says there are currently no plans to bring back News at Ten

And tomorrow's Express probably claims Prince Philip murdered Princess Diana.

Some things just never change.

It's nothing but hyperbole.

Sounds like exactly the sort of think Michael Grade would do. He's already said axing News at Ten was a mistake, so I reckon it could happen.

I'm not sure, London's LBC 97.3 just broke the news on the radio. Seems it may well be true.

They also added that the chimes of Big Ben would also be making a comeback.

Axing News at Ten wasn't the mistake - resurrecting it was!

We may slag off OFCOM now for virtually giving in to all ITV demands, but it was bloody ridiculuous that the ITC could dictate exactly what time ITV showed their flagship bulletin for so many years - especially when the BBC were able to ditch their own with just 2 weeks notice!

Of course axing it was a mistake, probably the biggest mistake that has ever been made at ITV - and they're still suffering because of it now. Even the moron that axed it has admitted it was a mistake.

Does anyone else miss the old ITV news titles with the orange and blue?

No, but I would like a return to some form of traditional titles and enough of all the bland rubbish
