They seem to have kept a lid on that possible story.

The story below is the official line, but it does make me think we're edging closer to the creation of a Scotland Tonight style 6pm. They might hold off on doing that for now though, as Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness' local TV licenses are due to be advertised later this year and STV will want to win them before it throws in the towel on it's hyper localised channel 3 commitment.

The Edinburgh set looks far better than the Glasgow set IMO.

No. Just no. The Edinburgh set looks cheap and half finished.

Yeah, um, that's sort of irrelevant now.

Is it safe to say we can expect an STV News Special from Dunblane tomorrow since Murray has won Wimbledon?

Was it a pan regional special?

No it wasn't.

John was in Dunblane for East and West. With Gordon Cree in the East and Rachel McTavish in the West with the othe news.

Norman was in the studio as normal in the north with the normal opening.

Seemed a little daft to be honest. I know Andrea normally partners with John in specials but would not be the first time we have had two male anchors in Scotland. Many a time we used to get John and Angus back in the day.

I think John and Norman would actually have been good doing a double header together! Or they should have took Rachel McTavish with them and gave us John and Rachel across all of Scotland.

Actually I agree as Dunblane is basically the crossover from STV North to STV Central depending on what part of the town you're in. So it would have sense for North and Central to pair up for it.

Is Kirsti Walker a new face at STV? Don't think I've seen her before....
