Who's the guy they have (usually on Mondays) that does the weather on daybreak on the STV bulletin? With not having anyone doing it at the weekends he just seems an also-rand who just glares at the screen for 10 seconds, tells us the weather and doesn't even point to the map!

I'm sorry but who are all these people? I thought there for a minute that MacMillan Media has never been away....
Maybe they are just doing things on the 'cheap'

I was just wondering, when STV News unveils a new look next year (which they probably will) is there a possibility that they could go down the road of VR. I know they have the technology in Glasgow but not sure anywhere else.
To me it would make sense. It's 2013 and they are still using pieces of plywood on the sets. Isn't it time for some TV's ?
Even if VR isn't a possibility then what about some colour? Some movement? Some variety? Each night starts and ends the same way. Couldn't they at least try different shots of the region they live in? The Glasgow bulletin end shot focuses too much on Glasgow, whereas Aberdeen and Edinburgh have a little bit more variety.
I do hope someone at STV reads this and understand where I am coming from.

There cant change the angle, since at the other end of the studio is another set, Scotland Tonight I think, while the opp the desk is the weather.
If roof cam looks the other way in Glasgow all you will see is wind turbins or govan.

I meant more along the lines of finishing with a different view of Glasgow from the ground, like they used to do back in 2009/2010. Most nights they finished with a shot of the STV building. What about using a shot of central station, the science centre or indeed a similar view to the titles(the wide shot)which shows the finniston crane, the squinty bridge and the STV bulding?

Actually no, if the camera was the other way, it would be facing the houses opposite STV at Maclean Square, and also possibly Festival Park which is baron...

And I have been to the studios at STV and I can reveal that there is a lot of space between the two sets so there could be a lot more movement during the programme.
