This seems to be a fairly common occurance - I don't watch STV News but do dip into this thread from time to time. I'm pretty sure that in the old days the IBA (and probably even the ITC) would have something to say about Aberdeen getting the Glasgow news.

They probably won't even have to email Ofcom a reason these days.

I've seen the North take what was Scotland Today well before the merge, I'm sure it was the late 90's when Grampian went had technical issues and they switched to Scottish and Scotland Today.

I'm guessing the East is still down though as on +1, it was Rachel with the headlines.

Who remembers back in 2000, when the Red Digital set come in to use and there just had to pull the whole programme!

I remember it being the other way around Gary......STV launced their remote studio cameras and it all went belly up - they had to take Grampians North Tonight.

I still say the current problems will be down to fewer staff.

Of course many newsrooms around the uk have had to go the same way.

Probably the greatest ever export of Scottish sport? Trying to think of anyone else who's had decades of sport success and can't recall anyone else.

The last time I watched Andy Murray win a tennis match it seemed to go on for decades, if that counts at all.

Frank crops up on Saturday every week with SPL updates usually at Aberdeen, Dundee/Utd or Inverness on Soccer Saturday
