Plus the Inverness studio was down up and a blog was done to show it off, but the tech was not upto date, something about the transmitters etc...

I was lead to believe the north look was delayed in part because there were hopes get the revised 3 way split, of the opt outs but it never happened.

Was it not 20.58 the North tonight update?

Yes you may be right - it may have been 20.58. Good to see them making an effort though.

So tonight I decided to watch the north edition of the STV News at Six, and I just liked to say that it was an utter shambles! The fade from the titles to the wide shot at the beginning was too early and didn't go in time with the music, the end titles also didn't go in time with the music and that studio looks as if it could use a good clean! Also, Norman McLeod is no John MacKay let me tell you! He is very stiff, boring and has no personality!
Over all, a very poor programme indeed!

I guess with all the cuts that stv Glasgow has made on Aberdeen we are lucky to get any kind of programme. I fail to see how you can call it a shambles though?? I would love to know how many staff Central have to air the same thirty minute programme? As for Norman ...well I for one am glad he "is no John Mckay" - it is a news programme...you would not want a 'showman' to present the stories of the day. Norman and Andrea do a fantastic job and can't think of any other pair I would replace them with. I bet also that the viewing figures (per head of population) are higher for the North than that in Central.

Hmmm not to sure about that, I'm sure there was a blog stating that Scotland Today was beating Rep Scot and even North Tonight before the merge.

I actually do like Andrea presenting, but who actually is there apart from Norman and Andrea that can do a decent job at presenting?

And as for the titles fading early, they have done that since North got the current revamp, and because of this, I don't think the camera can zoom in quick enough unlike Central's zoom in.

Overall I wouldn't say North is a total shambles, if they were to just emulate the standards that Central have, ie, the fluidity instead of big gaps everywhere it would be a good programme.

And as I said earlier - I am sure you will find staffing in Glasgow to be greater in numbers to put the same programmes out (Aberdeen now have very little strength and I guess it is showing a little on air). I think also (if you can find the information) that the view figures I spoke of are correct.

The 60 second bulletin went OK here in the west.

Yep went all OK here in the West, how did everyone else in the East and North find it?

How long has Juliet been off from the East? Just saw the headlines on +1 and its Laura presenting it...

Technical problems meant viewers in the East got John and the West tonight. But also there has been a few slip ups as well from the West as well. Reports failed to play and it looked like and one point the Autocue went down...

Due to technical problems at STV the Aberdeen and Edinburgh news bulletins came from Glasgow tonight.
