Good Lord. If Shereen's amongst us here, I'm away to polish my shoes and put on a suit. You should've said before, you!
Are you telling me you're sat there in a vest and socks, Jim?
Never mind Ms Nanji-panbread, you're needing to smarten up for me.
I think that BBC World is referring to someone with a Grampian background. If he is I doubt this person would be arsed with this site - they do not care what us gossips think and I would be the same if I were them.
No, I think you've misunderstood us. Jim and I are talking about Shereen; but your assumption about who reads along and what they think is also in error.
No one operates in this industry without taking a certain interest in how their audience perceives them.
How can you say that all presenters are bothered what folk think about them - depends on the individual - some may be curious; some may even crave celebrity status. I am not basing this on assumptions as I know at least four who do not care whatsoever and I have the greatest respect for all of them! As for the term Duchess - this was never a nickname for Shereen but Anne Mackenzie if my memory serves me well.

That's twice you've mangled my words to disprove what I'm saying.
Broadcast journalists - any journalists - take a view on how their work is perceived. Some may not read forums, but disregarding your audience would be a foolish move, wouldn't you agree?
Being "bothered if they are liked" is your choice of phrase, not mine.
John MacKay and Nick Dixon both told me that the STV Newsroom's nickname for Shereen was "The Duchess". And, I quote, "not for airs and graces, because she had none, but because she had the most regal walk".
Hence my reference above to The Duchess, in this case, Shereen.
Anne MacKenzie was undoubtedly also a Duchess, though.

Laura on STV News again this evening, getting to quite enjoy her broadcast.
Now what went on with the Live Link to Perth with Susan Nicholson on the Edinburgh programme tonight? Just heard Susan call Laura...Norman! Was this a double live link?

My apologies - it would seem I was wrong on this.
Anyone one know what Anne MacKenzie is doing theese days? She would have been an ideal host on Scotland Tonight.

I guess Susan simply forgot she was doing a live to more than one region??
For Gordon Chree fans: Gordon Chree will be doing the STV News at 6pm in the West, on 4/5/6th April.
For Kelly Ann fans: don't forget she is leading today in Edinburgh.

Well that's a change I definitely wasn't expecting! Guessing Rachel or Debi aren't available...
