The Edinburgh looks a bit better..

It's just been confirmed that those two alcoves have been created to accommodate this year's Christmas decorations. One of the alcoves will have an illuminated traditional Christmas Tree, and the other will have one of those Blowing Santas.

After Christmas, they will revert to the old set, Ikea style.

Well the blue lights have improved the set, its just a shame there can't give Edinburgh the set desk as Glasgow and Aberdeen.

But on the plus side a new end shot has appear: "Forth Bridges"

Just for comparison purposes:

The refurbished set looks much better. More images on TV Live by the way.

Yuck - no I think it looks daft - why do they have the two archways to nowhere either side of the main screen?

I do not think this adds anything to current set.

So what is happening up in Aberdeen? The Edinburgh and Glasgow studios refreshed again and nothing at Aberdeen!! What's going on then???

Edinburgh REALLY NEEDS to get something else to the set, same pot plants? Maybe if Edinburgh had the same type of Desk as glasgow ( with the round base) it might be better? maybe bring back the Opt screen for the sport instead of the chair?

I be honset Aberdeen might be better off keeping the older set, until the issues have been resolved.

I absolutely hate pot plants - most especially in a TV studio, most especially in a TV news studio.

STV News bulletins will be pan-regional this week, from Glasgow.

Gareth Joy (@lookoutwales2) asked Chris Harvey:
"Curious question RE bulletins over Xmas - are they going to be pan-regional once again this year?"

Chris (@ChristopherHarv) replied:
"Yes, but just for a week, between Christmas and New Year. They're coming from Glasgow again, purely to do with refurb at ABZ."

I'm guessing this will mean the same look for Aberdeen now (set/titles/graphics). Also, it looks like STV News will be off air on Monday 2 January, while Regional News in England & Wales goes ahead. I assume this is because it's a bank holiday in Scotland on Tuesday 3 January, unlike the rest of the UK.

What has a refurb at Aberdeen airport got to do with stv north.....ha ha!!!

It is a great pity that during the pan region broadcasts that some North name places could not be added to the big screen images!? I must admit I also find the set awful....I only hope that North's will be different?!
