that daft 5 items thing at the end

I like the look and feel of STV, but I do worry a little about the station. It seems to be taking on quite a nationalist (with a small 'n', for now at least) streak.

Good assessment. There is an issue, which is that many cybernats see BBC Scotland as unionist and against the SNP, and many Labour supporters think STV is biased towards the SNP. There's no clear editorial backing for either view from my perspective, but both sides face that as an issue.

I don't think there's a big issue in STV being big on being Scottish - it is their USP from ITV1 - but there is a danger in perception.

Yes indeed, I do hope they are aware of it because it won't wash with the viewers.

I'm trying to keep a level head on this one, but given that there have been questions over editorial control of programming in the past, it can be difficult. Call me a cynic, but also having Eck appear on that STV Appeal cringefest offering donations recently, giving interviews on the sofa of Scotland Tonight and also the appearance of Salmond-friendly Trump on the first edition this week, something feels a little off.

Not to mention STV-friendly MSP, Christine Grahame, who also appeared on the first edition of the show. From the outside looking it, I perceive it as the SNP getting bored of campaigning for a Beeb Scottish Six, and deciding to go and get pally with STV instead. Genuinely hope I'm wrong.

In reply to p_c_u_k's big post.....

I see where you're coming from Re Kelly-Ann, and I don't mean this in a derogatory way but I see what you mean. Saw the late bulletin during Scotland Tonight. Has a team of make up artists been to STV HQ??

I have to say on Scotland Tonight, the 'one last thing' works a little better now as it's given a bit of context before cutting to the VT.

Looks like West are following the East now and taking the night time titles. Looks pretty impressive actually.

I note that Tayside is getting local weather forecasts by Sean Batty, I've seen them at 16.00 and 22.30

I remember tweeting to Claire Stewart to see if North was going to get the revamp, and she tweeted back saying,

@GazMcEwan I don't think it's immanent, but what do I know ;0)

So I guess by that, that means no then...

Presuming you copied and pasted that, she doesn't know how to spell imminent Smile
