I think it's silly having John on the Central Lunch Bulletins as he always signs off by saying "see you later etc at 6" when he's only meaning that to the West of the central viewers.
Or maybe one of the North presenters....Norman MacLeod (oh hold on....stupid me....like that would ever happen)???

STV has revealed the presenting team for its new nightly current affairs programme Scotland Tonight.
John MacKay and Rona Dougall will host Scotland Tonight - live on STV every night from Monday to Thursday at 10.30pm, starting Monday October 24. John and Rona will present the show separately on two nights of the week.
The 30-minute programme will bring viewers an in-depth look at the big news stories of the day along with sport, politics, business, art and entertainment, live studio guests, special features and in-depth analysis and discussion.
Scotland Tonight will be produced and presented from STV’s HQ in Glasgow, with a team of journalists delivering engaging reports and features from all corners of the country. It will also incorporate local news bulletins from the east, west and north of Scotland, bringing viewers across the country the top stories from their local area.
The programme will discuss the issues that are important to people in Scotland and as such, viewers will be encouraged to interact with the show each evening.
A dedicated website, www.stv.tv/scotlandtonight , will provide the agendas and discussion points for the show, alongside a dedicated Facebook and Twitter page allowing viewers to interact with the show live and immediately. Viewers will also have the ability to select one of the topics up for discussion that evening.[/b]

Right I'm probably being stupid here, does that mean it will be Double Presentation say Monday and Tuesday, and Single Presentation on say Wednesday and Thursday?
No, I think they meant to say they will "each present the show separately two nights a week".
I'm not expecting Newsnight, sounds like it will be a re-hash of reports from North and Central regions. I also note they seem to think there's a need to have another website/microsite within their confusing mess of webpages, and a dedicated Facebook and Twitter. Why not just sort out a decent single news website and social media channels, then do more to promote them as one clear online destination for Scottish news.
I can't see myself watching this. With The Nightshift now seeming to start around midnight, this will mean a typical 6pm to midnight period on STV weeknights will have a third of the time devoted to studio-based news, followed by 5 hours of txts being read out over aerial views of mountains.

Indeed, and also might have been nicer if two of the nights was presented by a North face......stv - what a farce!!!

Nah I'm sorry, but in my opinion Norman couldn't do something that goes out both regions, his accent at times is hard to understand and I have to frequently put the subtitles on to understand him, give you one example, he always says 'Progrum', it's 'Programme'.
Although Andrea would have been a good choice as she is both known to Central and North.

What a stupid comment?? He can be understood perfectly well!! I guess it is you that must have the problem? We all had to understand Tam Cowan and the other scrawling sidekick Michelle when they were on. I can not believe you posted that comment!
