Then the.chances are IF stv was given Scots borders from itv then its more likely that each part would get the east or west bulletin instead of one for themselves.

At least stv.are trying to keep everything afloat.

I agree with the points made by both Barney and pcuk - but wonder if this route would include more of a Scotland wide coverage. The investment seems to be more linked to local services and that seems to be beefed up. I do not think the Highlands will receive a more localised bulletin for some time anyway - especially if other projects are being tried and tested.

It is good news that Edinburgh has an opt out - but wonder if the North edition of STV News and Six will see any changes to bring it in line with the Glasgow and Edinburgh versions any time soon?

Scotland Tonight will probably have a Glasgow based presenter and I would say that an existing STV News journalist will lead this - they are not going to bring any one in for this. They may even opt for Aberdeen and Glasgow based presenters??

I would bet my house on the fact that the Scotland Tonight presenter will be in Glasgow and will have been based there for sometime!

Debi is indeed presenting most of the week (Monday-Thursday).
Rachel will present on Friday - she has said she is in London for most of the week.

With this Scotland Tonight starting next Monday, Am I right in saying that the late bulletin which currently goes out over the 3 regions (West, East & North) will be amalgamated into one bulletin within this new programme, effectively ending the late bulletins as we currently know them?

No, Gaz. Nichola Kane said on Twitter that the three separate bulletins will remain.
Surely they are going to announce the presenter of the new show soon - it starts in a week... Shocked

I would hope so anyway, For some odd reason I've got my fingers crossed it's going to be someone like Rachel or Mike Edwards. Doubt it will be though. If the 3 bulletins are remaining, it seems a bit odd to have 3 bulletins and then go straight back to Studio 1 at PQ.

Noticed the promo for this tonight and it looks like it is John McKay (no surprise there then) who will be fronting the show??

Could be the reason as to why John is off from the News at Six for a week then....

Maybe that's why John is off all week?

EDIT: Beaten to it. Cool

Make Sense having John do it.

I think it's silly having John on the Central Lunch Bulletins as he always signs off by saying "see you later etc at 6" when he's only meaning that to the West of the central viewers.

Could it be that the three bulletins are contained within Scotland Tonight, or is definite that they will be separate from it?
