One thing I have noticed. STV West has Falkirk wheel in it's ident leading up to the 6pm news etc, and family I know there get John McKay however on the East version the titles have Falkirk written in them... strange as to what sub-region they should be in.
Falkirk's an odd one. It's smack bang in the middle and in radio terms gets both stations for Glasgow and Edinburgh (Clyde and Forth), along with its own, Central FM, so I suspect which region you get depends a lot on your aerial. Goodness knows what it's officially classified as.
I know Stirling and Stirlingshire is classed as the West as that covers everything from Stirling, Plean, Callander, Doune and even Lochearnhead which is on the Perth & Kinross/Stirling Council border.
Have to agree though with Steven O, don't see the harm in STV getting what was the old Border Scot and putting out an STV South edition.

It would be nice if that happened but I get the feeling there will not do this, especial since the east and west opt come in
It would be good for a STV South and hopefully if they have any sense would give it to Louise White. She seems to have gone from STV, I have e-mailed STV and all you get is that shes on a unknown extended absence.
Honestly unless she gonna get the new late night prog, I don't see her coming back to STV. A loss!

What STV really mean in layman's terms, they do know the reason behind the extended absence, but they are keeping schtoom. And to be honest, Heather is starting to grind on me doing all these late bulletins. Whatever happened to the likes of Joanne Bonner or Vicky Lee doing a late bulletin?

Heather alright and i do like her doing the news but of course Louise is something else:
When Heather come back from Maternity leave her main role was to produce the bulletins and not really to be a news reader. Vicky Lee left to join Real radio Scotland news team, STV are short of news readers......

Are they? I'm sure there are plenty of people in the newsroom that could do it. Mike Edwards, Kelly-Ann, Sharon Frew, Gordon Chree to name but a few.

I know some of them are busy doing other stuff, I wonder where Kelly ann has gotten to?

Vicky did leave to go to Real Radio but came back.
They are not short anything at STV just now, it's the roles they have now. Vicky Lee/Laura Miller/Clare Steven are all call Broadcast Journalists. And as so 90% of there role is behind the scences. Many a night at end of the News at 6m Vicky/Clare/Laura will appear on credits as News Gathering.
Also at the weekends, they edit, produce & direct all the bulletins. Basically as the weekend all you have in is a News Presenter, News Reporter and a Broadcast Journalist.
So the faces you think should be reading the news are all busy behind the scenes.
Heather is different, Her role is a combined role as Assistant Producer/News Presenter.
