Reminiscing, I'd have rather seen an update to the 1997 Scotland Today titles (update the placenames, add in a few images and drop the Webdings). Still a bit of a classic theme, in my view:

Here are the STV News Tonight titles for anyone who hasn't seen them. They're very CBS News:

Interesting. I wonder what STV had pitched to Rage Music or vice versa seeing as they composed it the music for it. Quite surprised they didn't get Paul Leonard-Morgan to do it. The Scotland Tonight set is actually really nice and shows what can be done with a small space.

Nice set, but really not a fan of the titles - they look very cheep and fairly generic. Scotland Tonight titles are much better.

It's not the first time Rage have done music for STV. I was convinced that Leonard-Morgan did the Scotland Tonight music and was searching on a certain library for them but couldn't find them - checked and it turns out Rage did those too!

Yeah I have done that previously as well, although I don't think Rage are on that certain library. I couldn't find them anyway.

The STV news and Scotland tonight themes are on that "E" Music library. for Night===692... That the only clue.... You can also hear the Border theme aswell.. But as it been said lots and lots of times STV pays for them and then places them on the library to make some money back... with library rules we can listen to them on line happily, without breaking any rules.

Was sure I'd checked that particular number as well, cheers!

Don't think the refreshed Scotland Tonight has been uploaded to it yet though.

Lucy Whyte has left STV News according to her Twitter and Instagram.

She is going back to radio this time for BBC Radio Scotland.

I take it Laura Miller must be back from Mat Leave for the East Edition.

Who will be John's number two in Glasgow? Maybe Halla Mohieddeen from STV News Tonight will cover or hopefully we will see more of Rachel McTavish.
