North just opted out and went back during a report...Bit of a mess at their end actually.

Cant understand why John needed to be there anyway - certainly for the whole programme?

He was there for the whole West bulletin, North and East went back to their own programmes half way through.

A bit odd that only the West did the whole programme (from the East)???

Congratulations to all the team at STV News who have won an award at the RTS Awards Scotland Inaugural Ceremony about the Clutha pub helicopter crash.

Also STV won another award in the Factual category for their documentary Piper Alpha: Fire In The Night...

For anyone interested, here's a timelapse video of the STV News set being built.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HObNkYwz1DM

That video kind of shows how similar the new set is in a way to the ITV regional set, and how different the ITV regions could make the set look with a proper desk and screen to the right set up in the STV layout. Wouldn't be in keeping with the national set (though neither is the current set where it's not been replaced) but a fairly effective way of making an old set look new rather cheaply.

Don't you dare correct me, I'll think you'll find the article says STV...

Mod Edit: I don't like your tone and it's not acceptable in my book. So I've banned you for a week. Do it again and it'll be forever. Bail.

Sometimes you come over as a massive idiot. Others, like this, only words that would get me an instant ban would be sufficient.

Anyway back to the main matter of the thread and not those contributing - STV News have much to be proud about today - we the viewers are lucky! Smile

Intresting situation developing this evening. Football on STV, which obviously meant Scotland Tonight was not on, although was on STV Glasgow with a new presenter. Don't think a lot of STV viewers are happy about it either and it's to be a regular occurance if ITV/STV show the late game in the world cup.

Well that's what happens when World Cups are on. If they're going to show it on STV Glasgow why don't they delay it and show it later on STV(1)?
