That doesn't preclude the possibility that it was specially written; and when someone's clearly taken the time to sign up just to correct you, you could perhaps show a wee bit more grace in your reply.

And another thing - how and why do you have access to these libraries? You paid your subscription then?

Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear enough! Yes, I know it's available as library music, but it was written originally for the programme. Apologies for the confusion! Laughing

Thanks Gavin, but don't worry about it - no offence taken! I actually joined up to see if anyone knew anything about the new STV idents music!

couple of points:

* Sorry, and Welcome. ( I have asked admin on STV forums if there know themselves, so I will pass on the info, if I hear back )

* anyone can go and listen to any piece there like, and like I have stated before even the companies themselves say it alright to go listen to them,

Does "braw" mean good? If so it gives the nod to Scandinavian influences - as "bra" means good in Swedish and Norwegian...


Not 100% sure on its etymology but it largely means comely, fine, handsome - and later was taken to mean "good".

Often used in the north east of Scotland - which has particularly strong ties to the Scandinavians.


That makes a lot of sense.

Although you do have to be a registered user in order to download tracks in broadcast quality. It's free to register, but you must prove you work in TV, radio, advertising, etc..
