Further details for you.

Today stv has announced a brand new addition to its news programmes- weatherman Sean Batty.
As from next week, he will present the weather on both Scotland Today and North Tonight. He'll also produce a special online weather page on stv.tv.
Sean joins us from the Met Office, where he worked for five years and presented the weather on both ITV and the BBC regions.

He's going to become a very familiar face to you.

Well whats the bets that Scotland Today will have him live but North Tonight will be a recorded version.....never mind it must be an improvement.

Wonder how long ago it has been since NT had a weatherman - remembering Ian Davey and the map that turned like window blinds!!

I actually think none of them will be live. It doesn't really make any difference anyway, It wouldn't surprise me if there was only one forecast for the whole country.

Be surprised.

If Glasgow bosses think Grampian viewers will accept the new weatherman’s broad Paisley accent on a daily basis, then they are deluding themselves. I have watched three different packages of him, and his accent is already irritating me. Why everything must be based in Glasgow I do not know. What is going to be next – all the sport from Glasgow.

I can just imagine the news finishing at 6.20, with Scotsport following with Raman Bhardwaj. But. let's not give them ideas. Laughing

I hope there will be two services but you are right.........you just never know!?!?!

Mind you there are already central belt voices being used in reports and presenters in the North at the moment so the weather man sounding as though he was selling dodgy DVD's at the Barras would come as no massive shock to Grampian viewers!!!

As today is not a Bank Holiday in Scotland why do STV not show a full regional news bulletin. They could easilly show it at 6pm opting out of You've Been Framed

Maybe they want a day off? Reporting Scotland isn't on until 10.20 this evening, according to RT online.
