Aileen Taylor was working at ITN in the late 90's.
As for Colette i'm not sure.
As for Matt and Becky they were not "dropped" by STV they both took voluntary severance.

Does anyone remember these two presenters:
Collette Farrell?
Aileen Taylor?
Both used to present Scotland Today many moons ago and wondered what they where upto nowadays. I know Aileen did a brief spell on GMTV.

Yes, both of them are great journalists and I thought the lack of Matts and Beckys would lead to the downfall of stv. However, stv has survived these mass redundancies better than I thought.
I do think that the rebrand of Scotland Today is going down better than North Tonight. If the north of Scotland had a BBC opt out then the viewer could vote with their remotes. I cannot see North Tonight the programme remaining though. I think there will be a Aberdeen and Dundee based Scotland Today production. stv would not be breaking any rules as long as they honoured their opt out services.
Let's face it, stv news is far more localised than the Grampian or Scottish programmes were. The quality however - a different debate altogether.

It was such a refreshing change to have Kirstin Gove solo anchor North Tonight a few weeks ago. I wish this would happen more often, instead of Andrea Brymer dominating the main presenting role.
As I switched on to tonight’s edition, the sports preview was about GLASGOW Rangers, followed by a report from EDINBURGH, then another from GLASGOW, both with Scottish Television reporters. I then turned it off. What has happened to “we understand local matters”. It is high time Ofcom started to monitor Grampian’s news output, as it is clearly ONE news schedule for all of Scotland now. It is not surprising there have been complaints in the local press about the news programmes since the channel became STV.

Heather Simpson finally got a chance to front the programme tonight. I thought she done very well. She seemed very relaxed and comfortable.

I am glad Heather is doing well...she seems genuine!
I take it John is on his holidays then; he must have been busy following the Glasgow Airport attack. Is Raman still there or has he got the boot?
What a great programme tonight! Good to see Heather fronting
. Thought she did really well, seemed at home.
Raman was doing sport tonight.

Well according to the Scotland Today video blog, John is still on holiday, and Stephen is recovering from the past two weeks in rehab.
