It's not a "whole new look" - just the old set with a backing tray, a desk and afew panels chucked in.

Reporting Scotland won't be broadcasting from Pacific Quay until July.

I think Reporting Scot has really improved recently in terms of content, and is starting to give Scot Today a run for its money! For me Scot Today lost a lot of its appeal when it went to solo presentation, and although I like John MacKay, I still think it misses the females who left last year esp. Shereen Nanjianni and Jane Lewis!

Dan's right. I've noticed too that RS is starting to give ST a run for it's money.

*The terrible twasome (Jackie & David) are back behind a desk, doing what they do best.
*Alison and Rhona are beginning to copy something like Jane Lewis on ST.

This can only be worrying for the team at ST, though I don't think they'll be worried about this just yet. I admit though that I have not watched either show all week because of fears that they'll refer back to a certain game which my team lost on Mother's Day at Hampden. Sad

By the way how's thing's with you lot? Confused

I think RS will only start truely competing with ST when they move to PQ in July, as the new studios will be open to tha public (a la mailbox) - increasing viewer participation in the show. IMO it was a huge mistake for ST not to go down this road - even the walkway along the clyde outside the STV studios is closed off and private! Confused

I think Louise should become main anchor on Thurdays and Fridays, keeping Stephen for East opt outs and Heather in the West.

Not much, but I just don't think Stephen is doing much for the ratings. Laughing

Sorry, have to disagree.... I feel Stephen's quite animated and at least seems interested in what he's presenting. I'm not keen on Louise anchoring - she's quite snooty and patronising(in my humble opinion), as my partner said - she's a bit of a cold one. I can't see them changing from John to anyone else in the main seat. Although I always preferred 2 presenting, maybe John and Heather would do well, she's quite lively. And maybe Stephen and Louise? But I don't think there's much point going down that avenue - I think they're quite set on just one main anchor. I do miss all the banter when they had two presenting.

Agree completely about Louise. She is very cold. I think Heather is ok, but is ok good enough for a regional news programme? I guess that's what I meant in my inital post when I said they were missing the ladies who left. They all had that little something on screen, and the banter was ace!

I would have to disagree with both of you. I think Louise has a very warm personality, but that's just my opinion. I also think Heather is welcoming.

Louise is not as warm as Shereen and Sarah was .She just has a more serious style and at the end of the day she is a newsreader NOT an entertainer.Lousie is excellent at what she does i would never take that away from her.I much prefer her to the younger Presenters who lack in experience Louise does have credibility and authority .

Debi Edward on sportsdesk tonight. She is becoming very popular on the programme.
