Thanks for those excellent caps, GMc. The set looks kinda classic and - somehow and don't ask me why - it reminds me of the old days of STV.

I can't quite put my finger on the reasons though. But looks good.

Perhaps the single anchor style of the two Johns (Toye and McKay) is the first time this format has occurred since the departure of the former????

It's (Scottish output) become a bit naff anyway, Lewis, since the demise of Andy Stewart, Thingymajig, Glen Michael, John Toye and the departure of Narinji.

Does anyone remember a programme many years ago called Callum's Ceildh?? Early to mid seventies on STV. Lots of tartan trotting around in Cowcaddens in the era of Garnet Way, Montford, Toye and, as mentioned above, Andy Stewart.

Ach, the memories.............(Chris, you'll remember it too, sure?)

Back to Scotland Today - I would love if anyone could post some caps of the set etc since it's relaunch last year. I still haven't managed to see what the whole thing looks like. (regardless of the regional opt-outs).

Thanks,
James

I think you will find that Callum's Ceildh was made in Aberdeen by GRAMPIAN TELEVISION!!??!!

Andy Stewart also made many shows for Grampian.

I laughed when the previous poster wondered why Border did not take stv's hogmanay show.......................did you see it................I wish stv had gone to the network too!!!!!!!!!

Actually i was not referring to the Hogmanay show content or anything about the programme. It was about Border NOT using the Scottish opt out that was my whole point .

Well that is new they never used to .They used to take High RD Shocked and the STV Hogmanay Show i thought that was the whole point of the Scottish optout.

I can understand how much Grampian meant to you, Barney Rubble.

I think we can all understand how everyone in the former Grampian Region, (including Barney) feels in this situation. If it was the other way around, we in the Scottish Region would feel exactly the same - wouldn't we not? Confused In saying that, if STV(both bits) were to become part of ITV Plc, then you can bet your backside that I'll be feeling the same way, as Barney's feeling the now. Guaranteed! Sad

Yes, Killie Kingdom, we in the former Scottish region would probably feel the exact same if it was the other way around. And, I would be so annoyed if ITV plc were to get their hands on stv.

On a musical note, I noticed the Scotland Today backing music (used for the weather) was on Big Brother's Little Brother today.

Just thought you would be intrigued to know this little piece of trivia.
