No Caroline Dempster was more strawberry blond and Nick looked more of a red head with those awful glasses he used to wear.

Also lets not forget Marion White who read the news before the East West thing was introduced. She was pushed to the side. It was always John and Marion on Scotland Today which i liked .

Lewis I always thought you were a young thing, but you remember more about the early 80s than I.

Oh well I stand corrected, but its quite fascinating to have my memory refreshed.

Anyone remember Tony Currie, Mike Gower, Malcolm Wilson, Michael Mulford, Alex Cameron (Sports), John Hoshack, Fiona Ross, Paddy Christie..........some of the other "legends" who have graced "Scotland Today" over the years?

A comment like this must be coming from a Central Scotland member???

North Tonight does a better job in keeping North Scotland up to date than I am sure John or any of the other "Weegies" that would grace our screens!!

You are right.....stv have stolen and screwed up everything else about the North Scotland operation.....it only has NT left!!! NO WAY!!!

your right.. about the North Scotland operation

Sadly, Barney - I can see it coming as well.
I did see the new new look North Tonight and it is not that big a deal, although I like the idea.
With all this localising news malarky I can see Scotland Today coming from Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh (and hopefully Inverness in time?).
Whatever stv decide I hope they do not think that we'll see them as a truely Scottish outfit, as the south of Scotland still remains in Borderland!
I wonder if we'll get Scotland Today from let's say Dumfries? I also wonder if the people in the south of Scotland want to be part of the stv revolution?

Thought tonight's local news in the west was better in terms of the news - but maybe just a better news day! Just wondering, there is the shot with John and louise in the weather - I guess the east get that too - kind of odd as they had steven with their local news. Also I thought as Heather was in the report previewing the local news she would have been doing it more? But it's Tuesday and still no sign of her????? Remember Local Matters!

I;m sure we got Heather for the weather, No sign of steven!

I wouldn't be surprized if Bordars Scotland become part of STV, in Years to come!

Border surely can't become part of STV as it's owned by ITV PLC. And unless STV a) have the money to pay for a takeover (unlikely); b) can convince ITV PLC to sell (even more unlikely), it's not going to change.

It would make more sense, but it won't happen.

SMG cant pay the electric never mind buy Border and I think they are better off staying part of itv.

It pains me to say this but I think I would rather have Grampian as part of itv plc.....at least the Grampian name would still remain on end caps etc..........I think it is shamefull that SMG have been allowed to get away with the murder of a fine local station!!
